This move has come after Cyril reported a row on Dawn between government and military establishment.
The article was about the government stance in which government officials straightforwardly warned military establishment on growing isolation of Pakistan in the world. The government has bluntly alerted the military, act against homegrown terrorists or face isolation in the world.
Whereas the Sharif government has rejected Cyril’s report. “A fabricated news story”, PM office said.
Dawn says it had fact-checked and confirmed the report a number of times.
“The Elected government and state institutions should refrain from targeting the messenger, and scape-goating the country’s most respected newspaper in a malicious campaign”, Editor Dawn said in response to PM Office’s rejection of the report.
