Recipe of the Day: Blackened Salmon Fillets

Time to Prepare:  25 minutes

Serves: 4 to 6

 

Ingredients:

Ground Paprika: 2 tsp

Salt: 2 tsp

Dried Thyme:  1⁄4 tsp

Unsalted Butter:  1/2 cup

Dried Oregano: 1⁄4 tsp

Dried Basil: 1⁄4 tsp

Salmon Fillets: 4 (bones and skin removed)

Ground White Pepper: 1⁄2 tsp

Ground Black Pepper: 1⁄2 tsp

Ground Cayenne Pepper: 1 tsp

Onion Powder: 1 tsp

 

Method:

  1. Mix cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, paprika, white pepper, black pepper, dried thyme, basil and oregano in a bowl.
  2. With ¼ cup butter, brush Salmon Fillets from both sides and spray evenly with the Cayenne Pepper mixture.
  3. Drizzle one side of every fillet with ½ remaining butter.
  4. Cook Salmon in a heavy skillet over high heat, at least 2 to 5 minutes until blackened.
